Why it gets kept
Most giveaways compete with something the recipient already owns and prefers. A pocket bottle opener competes with nothing — very few people carry one, and everybody occasionally needs one. It earns its place on the keyring by being the only thing there that does that job.
That is also why it outperforms a plain keychain for a bar, a brewery or an events business: it is used in exactly the setting where you want to be remembered.
Who orders them
Bars, breweries and beverage brands handing them out at stalls and events. Restaurants and cafés. Corporate conference giveaways. Groomsmen and bachelor-party gifts. Music festivals and band merchandise. Travel and tour operators, where an opener is genuinely useful on a trip.
Because it is metal throughout, it also survives being a keyring far better than a printed plastic fob, which matters if the point is to still be in someone's pocket a year later.
Designing at 44mm around an opener
This is the smallest printed face we make with a functional lug on it, so simplify hard. One mark, or one short word, or a phone number — not a logo with a tag line under it. Fine strokes vanish at this size and the piece is read while moving.
Keep the design centred and clear of the edge: the outer ring wraps around the curve and the lug occupies one side, so a border-based layout will not sit right.
Send at 300 DPI or higher in JPG, PNG, PDF or AI. Full-colour CMYK; send CMYK values if a brand colour has to be exact, since neons and metallics cannot be matched.
Bulk pricing and delivery
Per-piece rates fall at each quantity tier and drop substantially at the largest ones, which is what makes this practical as a mass giveaway. Designs can be mixed inside one order at the combined rate.
