Magnet version or keychain version?
We make the same idea two ways, and they are not interchangeable.
The magnet version is the better keepsake. It lives face-out on a fridge door, so the artwork is visible every day, in the room where drinks are opened. Bars, breweries and beverage brands almost always choose this one, because it is effectively a small permanent billboard in a customer's kitchen.
The keychain version is the better giveaway. It is smaller, lighter and cheaper to post in bulk, and it leaves the venue with the person rather than staying in one kitchen.
Ordering for a venue or a mailout: magnet. Ordering to hand out at a stall or an event: keychain. Many customers take both in one order and pay the combined-quantity rate.
Who orders them
Bars, pubs, breweries, restaurants and cafés, for customers and for staff. Beverage distributors sending them out with orders. Corporate teams using them as conference giveaways, where an opener gets kept and a branded pen does not. Groomsmen and bachelor-party gifts. Band, brewery and festival merchandise, where an opener sells at a stall in a way a plain badge sometimes does not.
Designing around the lug
The opener lug sits at the edge of the piece, so a design built around a border or a circular frame will look off-balance. A strong single focal point in the middle works far better.
Build to a 68mm circle at 300 DPI or higher with the outer 5mm as bleed, in JPG, PNG, PDF or AI. Full-colour CMYK — very saturated screen colours may shift slightly, and neons and metallics cannot be reproduced.
