Note the metal back

Unlike our pin and hook sets, this one has a metal back rather than a plastic one. It gives a cleaner finished look from behind — which matters, because a fridge magnet's back is visible every time it is picked up — and it seats the magnet flat so the piece sits flush against the door instead of rocking.

Neodymium, and why it is worth it

Neodymium is a rare-earth magnet: for the same 8mm disc it holds substantially better than a standard ferrite magnet. In a fridge magnet that is the entire product, because a magnet that slides down the door over a week is a magnet that ends up in a drawer.

Two things to pass on to your customer. It will not hold on a stainless steel fridge door, which is a property of the fridge rather than the magnet. And neodymium magnets should be kept away from credit cards, hotel key cards and magnetic-stripe IDs.

Pressing them

Same 58mm press and 68mm circle cutter as a standard badge. The adhesive sticker fixes the magnet into the back shell before crimping — press the magnet down firmly and give it a moment to grab, because a magnet seated at an angle will make the finished piece rock on a flat door.
