The chain is the part that matters

A keychain fails at the attachment, not at the face. A cheap split ring riveted straight through a back plate works loose, and the fob comes off in a pocket. These come with an O-hook and a short chain already assembled, which puts a flexible link between the ring and the body — the keychain swings on the chain instead of levering against the back plate every time the keys are picked up.

If you are pressing keychains to sell, that difference is what separates a product returned in three months from one still in use in three years.
