The rectangular name badge, in detail
A round badge carries a logo. A rectangle carries a name — which is why every staff badge, conference tag and volunteer pass you have ever worn was this shape. 68×24mm is wide enough for a full name above a designation, and shallow enough to sit flat on a shirt pocket without tipping forward.
The build is the same press construction as our round badges: a stamped metal front, your artwork under a clear mylar film, and a plastic back plate carrying a rust-free steel pin.

Pin, or magnet?
This is the pin version. We make the same badge with a shirt-magnet back, and which you want depends entirely on what it is being pinned to. A pin is fine on a cotton uniform shirt or an apron. On a saree, a silk kurta, a blazer lapel or anything a member of staff paid for themselves, a pin leaves a hole — and people quietly stop wearing the badge rather than say so.
Order pins for uniforms you supply. Order the magnet version for anything else.
Who orders them
Restaurants, retail counters, showrooms, clinics and salons for staff identification. Conferences and symposiums for delegate and speaker tags. Schools and colleges for teaching staff and office bearers. Hospitals and labs, where a name and department has to be readable across a counter.
Reception and front-desk staff are the most common single order, usually a short run with every name different — which is worth knowing, because it changes how you send the artwork.
Sending names
For a batch of individual names, send us a plain list — a spreadsheet or even a WhatsApp message — with the exact spelling and designation for each person, plus one design showing where you want the logo and what the layout should be. We set each name into the same template. Do not send us 40 separate image files; the list is faster and far less error-prone.
Check the spellings before you send. Reprinting one badge in a run of forty costs more per piece than the original forty did.
If you are designing the layout yourself, work at 68×24mm with a few millimetres of bleed on every edge, at 300 DPI or higher, in JPG, PNG, PDF or AI. Keep the name as the largest element — a logo that competes with the name defeats the purpose of a name badge.
Bulk pricing and delivery
Rates step down at each quantity tier, so a 100-badge order costs meaningfully less per piece than a 25-badge one. Different names count as one order at the combined rate — you are not penalised for every badge being unique.
Standard delivery is 5–7 business days from artwork approval, with 2–3 day express to select pin codes. Made in Villivakkam, Chennai; shipped across India, local collection welcome.
