It is also the most expensive per set, and both facts have the same cause: it combines the rectangular name badge format with a three-piece magnet backing, which is precisely what corporate and hospitality customers ask for and precisely what most small badge businesses cannot supply.

A restaurant chain, a hotel, a hospital or a showroom group needs name badges that carry a name and a designation, attach without a pin, and stay upright on staff who are moving. This set is that product. There is very little price resistance on it, because the customer has usually already tried the cheap alternative and had it fail.

You need the rectangular die

This cannot be pressed on a round machine. It requires a 68×24mm rectangular press and a matching rectangular cutter. If you currently only run 58mm rounds, this is a machine purchase, not a materials purchase.

Why it reorders

Event badges are one-off. Staff badges are not. Every time someone joins, the customer comes back for one more — and a business with fifty staff and normal turnover will reorder several times a year. For a badge business looking for repeat revenue rather than seasonal spikes, this is the component to build around.

Running a list of names

Ask for a plain list with exact spellings and designations, plus one layout showing where the logo goes. Set each name into that template rather than accepting individual files. Have the customer sign off the spellings — reprinting one badge from a run of forty costs more per piece than the original forty.
