What is in a hook badge set

A durable metal front, a sturdy plastic back with the hook moulded into it, and a mylar sheet. Three parts, no pin and no magnet — the hook is part of the back plate rather than an attachment, so there is nothing to work loose.

Why stock the hook back

It is priced the same as our standard 58mm pin set, and it opens up the customers a pin cannot serve. Schools order hook badges because there is no pin for a child to open. Hospitals and labs order them because staff carry magnetic-stripe access cards that a magnetic badge would wipe. And anyone with a pacemaker or implanted cardiac device cannot wear a magnetic badge at all.

If you are pressing badges commercially and you only stock pin backs, these are the three orders you are currently turning away.

The one limitation to tell your customer

A hook needs an edge to grip: a shirt pocket rim, a buttoned placket, a lanyard cord, a bag strap, a belt loop. It will not attach to the middle of a plain t-shirt, because there is nothing there to hook onto.

Ask what the crowd will be wearing before you quote. For a t-shirt event, sell them the pin or shirt-magnet version instead.

Pressing them

Identical to a standard 58mm badge: same press, same 68mm circle, same die. Nothing about the hook changes the assembly, so you can run them on the same machine on the same day without a changeover.
