Why all-metal matters on a keyring
A keyring is the harshest place a promotional item can live. It is in a pocket with keys, it gets dropped, and it gets sat on. Plastic-backed fobs crack and printed acrylic hazes over within months. An all-metal body with a mylar-sealed face survives it, which is the difference between a giveaway that is still in a pocket next year and one binned by March.
The O-hook and chain matter too: they put a flexible link between the ring and the body, so the piece swings on the chain instead of levering against its own back plate every time the keys are lifted.
