Different roles, different backs
Not every badge at an event should be the same, and it is not only about the printing.
Volunteers and crew are usually in event t-shirts, so a hook badge or a pin is fine and cheap at volume. 44mm keeps the cost down when there are three hundred of them.
Delegates are in their own clothes, often a jacket. A pin through a delegate's blazer is a complaint waiting to happen — use the three-piece shirt magnet, which also holds through a handshake. A delegate badge on the floor means a stranger picks up someone's name, which is the failure mode worth paying to avoid.
Speakers and organisers are worth distinguishing with a different colour or a 58mm badge against the volunteers' 44mm, so they are findable in a crowded hall.
Badges people keep
If the event is a conference, an alumni meet or an anniversary, consider the pin-with-magnet version. It pins on for the two days and then goes on a fridge instead of into a bin — the same cost as an ordinary badge, with a much longer life.
Quantities and mixed designs
Every role can be a different design inside one order at the combined quantity rate. Five role designs across four hundred badges is a 400-piece order, not five small ones.
Order ten per cent more than your headcount. Badges get lost, people arrive who were not on the list, and a short run at the last minute is the most expensive badge you will ever buy.
Deadlines
Standard delivery is 5–7 business days from artwork approval, with 2–3 day express to select pin codes. Send us the event date and your pin code before ordering and we will tell you the real cut-off for artwork.
